Robin Sibley had worked for an Italian coffee brand for 12 years and then,
pursuing his dream, decided to open his own locally-based coffee company
The brand name was inspired by a phrase ‘Up The Wooden Hill to Bedfordshire’.
Robin and our course tutor at University have set up a project, asking us to create
a logo and coffee labels for his company.
I had various ideas, but my final route was inspired by the song ‘Up The Wooden Hill
to Bedfordshire’ by Vera Lynn, creating a picture of delicate vintage ladies in my mind,
and transforming this vision into simple line drawings. I believed each of these ladies would carry a different feature, assigned to various coffee roasts and blends.
